Investor and customer videos for visionary workspace firm

The company asked us to make this 2-minute explainer video for prospective investors, for the NearDesk page on the Seedrs website. It helped raise over £1m, the largest crowd fund at that time. Our piece explains the firm's purpose and investor benefits and it was a 2-day shoot, 3-day edit and roughly 2 days' pre-production. Brilliant fun working with such a visionary team.

THE CHALLENGE

NearDesk is a visionary new UK office space firm. It rents out desk space by the minute in residential and commercial areas. After 2 years of organic growth, it was time for a step change. A third round of investment was needed to move the firm quickly to a larger size. The challenge was to demonstrate pedigree and purpose to new investors.

Our goal was simply to help win new investors by building reach and trust online.

HOW WE HELPED

We created a short investor proposition video. We filmed a series of client interviews at the firm's head office in London, and we also loved shooting a dark sequence for use at the start, to explain the commuting misery that NearDesk solves. Finally we interviewed the CEO to add authenticity to the pitch. The video was published on Seedrs, a crowd-funding site.

OUTCOME

LEARNINGS

The target of £600k was raised quickly. In fact over-subscription hit 25%. It was the biggest single share issue on Seedrs - a record.We learned from this creating this short film for NearDesk. We're sharing a few of our learnings here in the hope that they'll help you prepare for your next next video.
