Our Work for Steeper
We created this case study to showcase Steeper's products as well as revealing the purpose, benefits and outcomes of the Dunedin investment. This was a 1 day shoot, 3 days editing, and 2 days pre-production. The dedication, commitment and communication between investor and investee really shone through and it was an amazing experience filming on the factory floor.
Steeper is a leading manufacturer of innovative prosthetic, orthotic and assistive technology products. The challenge was to tell the story of Dunedin's investment in an exciting, filmic two minute piece without compromising on the content.
Our aim was to tell the story of Dunedin's investment in the company: the trials they faced together and the triumph of increasing global reach through re-investing in new technology.
HOW WE HELPED
We filmed Dunedin in the Steeper factory to enhance their proximity to the business, and to also capture the sights, sounds and day-to-day processes inside the workplace. We also made the Bebionic hand the star product by showing it as a prototype and as a working model.
Investment Explainer for World Class Prosthetics Manufacturer, Steeper
We filmed the video according to the brief - the company has subsquently sucessfully sold it's Bebionic division. Here are a few of our own learnings from the making of this case study video. Hopefully they can help you prepare for your next production.
- Insist on getting your interviewees to be filmed on the shop floor - it makes them look connected to the action.
- When dealing with mixed lighting - fluorescent, daylight and incandescent, colour balance for good skin tones.
- To overcome background noise, use a high-quality broadcast Rifle mic.
- Try to shoot sympathetic b-roll to match exisiting client promotional materials. They will fit better.
